James Norton Is Now The Betting Favorite To Be The New James Bond

No Time to Die will mark Daniel Craig's fifth performance as James Bond, and the 52-year-old has stated that the's done playing 007 after this.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in November, Craig simply said "Yes, it's done." Of course, many thought that he was done following Spectre (2015), but Craig opted to come aboard for another 007 project.

For all we know, the longest-tenured Bond actor ever will decide to do one more project after all. A source recently told The Sun that Craig may not be "finished with James Bond, despite his previous claims."

If Craig is truly finished as 007, however, there is no shortage of big-named actors who've been rumored as potential replacements. Back in January, Sam Heughan from Starz was listed as the favorite by Ladbrokes at 5/2, followed by Game of Thrones Star Richard Madden at 5/2.

But Sports Betting Dime is listing Happy Valley and War & Peace star James Norton as the +150 favorite to take over as 007. Madden is again listed as the second biggest favorite at +300, followed by Idris Elba at +400.

Heughan Tom Hiddleston, Jack Lowden and Cillian Murphy all carry the fourth highest odds at +600. After them, Jamie Bell, Aidan Turner and Tom Hardy are listed at +800. Henry Cavill's name is also in there at +400.

There is obviously no shortage of quality names who are capable of replacing the giant footsteps Craig is supposedly leaving behind. But the first order of business is for Bond series producers to figure out if Craig is actually leaving or not.

The No Time to Die was pushed back to November due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and it's going to be a while until we learn of a possible replacement for Craig. The only thing we know is that a male will continue to play Bond, according to Barbara Broccoli, despite speculation that a female would be cast for the role.
